Media Affiliation — Barbara Majsa

Barbara Majsa (she/her) is a freelance journalist, film critic, and communications professional. She is a member of the National Association of Hungarian Journalists. As an emerging film critic, she’s attended Talents Sarajevo and the FIPRESCI Warsaw Critics Project. She is a Tomatometer-approved critic and a CherryPicker.

I joined Cinema Scandinavia in 2014. I started out as a writer, then became an editor and later the managing editor. I worked closely with editor-in-chief Emma Vestrheim. I interviewed Nordic filmmakers, wrote reviews of Nordic films, and covered several film festivals.

I joined Humana, a Hungarian human rights magazine, as a journalist in 2010. Later I became the culture editor and was writing articles on topics related to culture and the arts. I mainly did interviews and wrote film reviews. I also co-managed the magazine’s Facebook page.
